Joshua Bridger first discovered Hardstyle at the age of 18, shortly after he graduated High School. The first song he heard was De-Tuned by the famous Headhunterz, he was immediately hooked. A few weeks later he had an epiphany, realizing he wanted to create this music for a living.
Immediately he started looking up how to make music, and discovered FL Studio. At first just playing around and watching Youtube tutorials to learn how to use FL, and make Hardstyle.
It was a struggle for him at first, because he had no musical background what so ever, knew nothing about how it was done or where to begin. He had no experience in entertainment or music at all, but slowly he was getting the hang of FL Studio and producing.
A couple years later at the age of 20 he bought his first DJ equipment, knowing he wanted to perform as well. He quickly got the hang of how to DJ, but was still struggling with how to do what he really wanted to do, produce Hardstyle. So he finally decided to step up and pursue his dream for real.
At the beginning of 2011 he applied to get into Nimbus School of Recording Arts, his Auntie had mentioned this school to him almost a whole year prior. Shortly after he sent in the application he was accepted and the program started next month. Excited about his acceptance to the school he immediately gave his notice at work and told everyone that he’d be moving away to pursue music.
Being more serious about his dream today, Joshua has learned a lot from the school he attended, always working hard on music and working hard to get his alias ‘Beatlifter’ a recognized name in the Hardstyle scene.
When he lived in Vancouver he made connections with people involved in the growing Hardstyle scene, Joshua got a chance to play at his first big gig called WICKED on October 14th 2011. It was an all Hardstyle show featuring respected names like Lady Faith and Atmozfears. He also got to play at the Canadian Climax featuring the Wasted Penguinz.
He is now moved back to Edmonton Alberta and to this day he is still learning, working hard and doing his best to get his name recognized. In November of 2012 he signed a contract with a North American Label, Dancetraxx Records. Making his releases with them and his music being available World Wide! Beatlifter is slowly becoming a recognized name in the Hardstyle scene. His hard work has been paying off, making more connections, and his music getting more attention. Also being brought on Edmonton’s Fusion Entertainment and playing on the same stage as big names such as Zany and Zatox!
Keep your eyes and ears open for this young talent, he is sure to make an impact on the Hard Dance scene!
